- Remember to shop the perimeter of the store! This is where the fresh, whole foods are. I highly recommend buying organic whenever your budget allows. Here is a handout explaining why.
- If shopping for fresh, whole foods is a new concept for you this healthy food shopping list may be helpful.
- Avoiding ingredients commonly found in processed foods results in less of a toxin burden. Dr. Sears listed several ingredients to avoid (high fructose corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, MSG to name a few). Here is a handout on several controversial ingredients and why it is wise to avoid them.
