I was a licensed pharmacist for 35 years. Over the years I observed many changes to the traditional healthcare system, which have not resulted in improved health or wellness for most individuals. Traditional medicine relies heavily on technology and pharmaceuticals to treat the patient’s symptoms. Often the focus is on managing the symptom(s), not discovering how or why the individual arrived at this place of disease. I have also seen a dramatic increase in chronic diseases, which often respond well to dietary and lifestyle management.

I always considered myself to be healthy, though not necessarily fit. I began experiencing pain in my hands early in my pharmacy career. I was diagnosed with carpel tunnel syndrome (1). When we moved to western Colorado in 2008 I requested a copy of my medical records (which if you haven’t done I would suggest you do the same for yourself). Throughout my record were references to “fibromyalgia” (2). For over 25 years I took medications to ease my pain and help me sleep. But I was still in pain more days than not, while taking medications for the pain.
We moved to a community surrounded by unlimited opportunities to enjoy the outdoors in 2008. But I was unable to really enjoy my new environment due to pain. In 2011 I changed how I ate and was finally free of the constant pain. My pain went away when I removed the main trigger for inflammation. My body began to slowly get stronger.
God created everything our body needs for optimum health. It is found in the world around us. Not in medications. Our body will heal itself, if it has the nutrients and support necessary to correct the damage.

The rest is history. I am now a certified health coach. I support individuals who are ready to be educated and learn natural ways to restore their health. I focus on the foundational aspects of health and wellness: whole food nutrition, safe movement, restorative sleep, stress management and having fun.
